SCAYT and Woking Double

The weekend of 17/18 June saw Woking Archery Club host the second stage of the Junior Archery Series and the Woking Double.

On Saturday, Southfields juniors took part in the inaugural Southern Counties Archery Youth Tour (SCAYT), launched by SCAS in April, and which forms part of the Junior Archery Series. While our archers performed admirably in qualification they unfortunately were knocked out in the early rounds of the head-to-heads.

Sunday saw the turn of the senior archers in the Woking Double, although the weather was looking incredibly unfavourable (thunderstorms), it managed to stay dry until the very end. Through the sun and rain Southfield Archers managed to pick up a silver (Penny – Women’s Barebow) and a bronze as well as a county record (Shed – Men’s 50+ Barebow). Congratulations Penny and Shed, and well done to all our archers who took part over the weekend.
